Dear Church Family:

It was such a blessing to see many of you yesterday for our service/meeting at Chico EFC.   We had about 25-30 from our church, and about 40 total were there.  It was a great time of worship, prayer, a brief message from Pastor Art, a time to share our stories, and some helpful words from the director of the EFCA Disaster Relief team as well as our EFC District Supervisor.  They are offering us—and will continue to offer us--a great deal of support during this incredibly difficult and overwhelming season.

I wanted to give you some important updates:

*I was able to go up and see our church building firsthand, and it is completely untouched, intact, and just as we left it after our Bible Study Wednesday night—praise God!  I was able to retrieve some important items, and hope to go back soon to retrieve some more things for safekeeping.  Sadly, though our church was untouched, everything around the church, such as the mobile home park across the street, was obliterated (not sure about the homes on Safari Lane).

*Starting this coming Sunday, November 18 at 11:15 a.m. we will be meeting for church in the Fellowship Hall of the Evangelical Free Church of Chico, 1193 Filbert Ave. Regarding childcare:  Chico EFC is generously inviting us to use their children’s ministries during that time, from nursery on up!  They have a full slate of volunteers already in place, as their services will be taking place simultaneously to ours.  This location will be our church meeting place for the foreseeable future.

*We are opening our home at 8 Stansbury Court in Chico to our church family for fellowship, prayer and Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., starting this Wednesday, Nov. 14.  All are invited.  Children are of course welcome, and we are planning to have childcare available (volunteers are always welcome!).  For more information or to help with childcare, please give Elisabeth a call at 570-0909.

* In order for the PEFC family to continue honoring the Lord through giving, and for those who want to give to the fire victims of our church, we are in the process of putting together a portal on our website.  We will keep you posted.

Please pass on this information to anyone you know in our church who does not have access to a computer.

God bless you as we move forward together in the healing and restoration process.  We love you and are praying for you all.
